I am using the lt3103u with a retail version of Windows 7, and haven't bothered using Gateway's drivers. I hadn't noticed any need to do so. I have more OS's installed on that poor netbook than any other single computer here in the house. ;)

I just got an lt3103u from a woot special, and I'm looking for resources, so found you. :)

Have you tried the recent windows 7 drivers on gateway's website, with windows 7? Or are you still using jolicloud?

I tried to download jolicloud, but it didn't seem to want to install on a usb key, I was afraid of using the express installer in case it messed with my laptops bootloader.

For electronics like the keyboard-based OTP USB device, they are supposed to be cheap at $4 each or so at volumes.

I think the volume goes up enough now for Mashed Life to lower the price.

Recently I just acquired several more for my family. The button design is also improved big time and there are colorful choices now!

Enjoy the security and convenience

I still very much like the LT3103u. The newest kernels (i.e. the kernel in Jolicloud) works fantastically, and I have no video, suspend, or wireless problems. It's only a short time before those same patches make it into the other Linux distros as well.

I don't have drivers for this unit for XP, sorry. Windows 7 runs like a champ on this unit, though.

Hey Chris, I think its great what your doing, as your my only source of info for linux on the LT3103. I was recently using UBUNTU but made the switch today to Fedora 11. I am encountering the same problem you described earlier where my wireless sees networks but wont connect to my WPA. Currently I am attempting to change the network adapter to see if that works. Did you expeirence any static on the screen too? Thanks for your research so far... Please post soon.

Chris,

Do you have any wireless driver for Windows XP? I installed Ubuntu, the wireless didn't work for me. Then I installed Windows XP 'cause Windows Vista is too slow for this system. If you have the driver? Can you send it to me at hgorman@smu.edu ?

Thanks..
Henry

I've been thinking about picking up one of these Gateway netbooks. Has it been pretty good to you so far?

I didn't play with the machine under Ubuntu long enough to determine that, as I have been testing a lot of the various OS's available for the unit.

However, I'm currently testing Jolicloud on it, which has an optimized kernel, but it still based on Ubuntu. I've been seeing a little over 4 hours of battery, as compared with around 5 hours under Windows 7.
