So, after over a year of planning for a complete set of implants in my upper jaw, I finally had the implants and teeth placed today, using the Nobel Biocare “Teeth in an hour” product. Basically, you do lots and lots of prep work ahead of time, and when you finally get the implants, etc, it goes in all in one sitting, and takes around an hour. Compare that with at least 3 sittings, and at least 3 months of recovery time, and 3 months of no teeth at all, under the older approaches.

It’s been about 18 hours since I had the surgery. They placed 7 implants in my upper jaw. I have no swelling. I’m not on any pain medications. The teeth don’t hurt at all. It’s almost creepy. But having this done, I’d highly recommend it to anyone in my situation. I’ll have more to say on this in the coming days, as I get used to the new teeth.
